Badwater Basin at Badwater Road, Death Valley, California.

At -282 feet in elevation, this is definitely a surreal place. Walking out into the basin definitely adds a sense of appreciation to the vastness of the area. You're walking across a salt field into the lowest place in the country, and one of the hottest places in the world.

You don't have to walk all the way out to enjoy it, but I recommend at least walking off the boardwalk a little ways. Take lots of photos and water!
